      The first meeting of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Committee on Business Environment-RCEP CBEwas held virtually from 20th to 21stNovember 2023.

      The Meeting was attended in plenary with the delegates from the Intellectual Property, E-Commerce, Competition and Government Procurement Sector in ASEAN Member States, Representatives form Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China and South Korea which are the partners of RCEP FTA and the ASEAN Secretariat Office attended the meeting.

    The Forty-Third Meeting of the Coordinating Committee on the Implementation of the ATIGA (43rd CCA) was held on 17 November 2023, at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta, Indonesia.

     The 32 representatives from ASEAN member states attended via video conferencing. The 2 representative from Ministry of Commerce meeting together with the representative from Myanmar Customs attended the said meeting via video conferencing.

            The Fourth Negotiation Roundof the Working Group on Competition for the ASEAN- Canada Free Trade Agreement (4th ACAFTA WGC) was held virtually on 16th November 2023.

   The 105th Meeting of the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Services –  105th CCS is holding in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam in hybrid format from 15 to 17 November, 2023. The meeting is attended by representatives from all ASEAN Member States and the responsible persons from the ASEAN Secretariat. Three officials from Department of Trade, Ministry of Commerce of Myanmar, officials from Malaysia and Philippines have also joined the meeting virtually.

Department of Commerce Thursday Talk Session

1.       Thursday Talk was held at the conference hall, the department of trade under the Ministry of Commerce, office No. 3, on November 10, 2023, from 10:00 to 12:00.

2.       U Ye Htet Zaw, staff officer in the department of trade, presented the topic on with “Technologies developed during the Industrial Revolution and Human Organization of the Future”.

The Opening of the Course on Civil Service Laws and Regulations

1.        Following the guidance of the Union Minister for the Ministry of Commerce, the Trade Education Division, operating under the Department of Trade, is actively executing the Human Resource Development Plan.

           The 4thround of negotiation of the Working Group on Competition and Consumer Protection (WGCC) for the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement was virtually held on 7th November 2023.

           Representatives from the Competition and Consumer Protection Sectors in ASEAN member States, China and the ASEAN Secretariat Office attended the meeting.

         The 2ndcaucus for the 4th round of negotiation of the Working Group on Competition (WGC) for the ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement (ACAFTA) was virtually held on 6th November 2023.

Representatives from the Competition Sector in ASEAN Member States, Canada and the ASEAN Secretariat Office attended the meeting.

        As representatives from Myanmar, officials from Myanmar Competition Commission Office were present.

Export-Import Procedure Training

          In accordance with the guidance of the Union Minister for the Ministry of Commerce, the Trade Education Division under the Department of Trade has been implementing the Human Resource Development Plan.

          Export-Import Procedure Training was conducted on October 27th (Friday). It was designed for young officers and other ranks to widen their knowledge about the Export-Import Procedure Training.

Nay Pyi Taw, October 23

   The Representative Training on the registration of Industrial Design(1/2023) was held in virtual format at the meeting room of the office No.52 of the Ministry of Commerce, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning of October 23, 2023 and the Director General of the Intellectual Property Department delivered an opening speech.
