The ASEAN-BRICS Capacity Building Workshop on Anti-Competitive Agreements was held virtually on 24 February 2026.
Opening remarks were delivered by the Chair of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition and representatives of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation.
The workshop was attended by competition representatives from ASEAN member states, as well as delegates from the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa - BRICS) which are members of the BRICS. Representatives from Myanmar also participated, including the Vice Chair, Commission members, and officials from the Myanmar Competition Commission.
During the workshop, competition authorities from BRICS member countries shared their experiences and enforcement practices in addressing unlawful business collusion. Participants also discussed legal frameworks and case experiences relating to anti-competitive agreements in ASEAN-BRICS countries, as well as potential approaches for addressing cross-border anti-competitive conduct among ASEAN-BRICS member states in the future.
