Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Competition between the State Administration for Market Regulation of the People’s Republic of China and the Myanmar Competition Commission

At a diplomatic meeting ceremony between the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the People’s Republic of China, held in Shanghai on 16 June during the State visit of the Myanmar high-level delegation led by the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Competition between the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) of the People’s Republic of China and the Myanmar Competition Commission (MCC) was formally signed. The Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen cooperation between the competition authorities of the two countries, facilitate the exchange of information and experiences, and promote collaboration in capacity-building activities. Through this cooperation, Myanmar’s capacity in competition policy development and competition law enforcement is expected to be further enhanced, thereby contributing to the promotion of a fair and competitive market environment.
