Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Competition between the State Administration for Market Regulation of the People’s Republic of China and the Myanmar Competition Commission

      At the invitation of the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, the high-level Myanmar delegation led by the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar paid a State Friendship Visit. During the visit, on 16 June 2026 in Beijing, the Chairperson of the Myanmar Competition Commission, who is also the Union Minister for the Ministry of Commerce, and the Minister of the State Administration for Market Regulation of the People's Republic of China signed and exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Competition. The Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen cooperation between the competition authorities of the two countries, facilitate the exchange of information and experiences, and promote collaboration in capacity-building activities. Through this cooperation, Myanmar’s capacity in competition policy development and competition law enforcement is expected to be further enhanced, thereby contributing to the promotion of a fair and competitive market environment.
