THE 35TH MEETING OF THE ASEAN EXPERTS GROUP ON COMPETITION (35TH AEGC) AND RELATED MEETINGS

         The 35^th Meeting of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition (35^th AEGC) and related meetings were held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia as Hybrid event both in-person and virtual systems from October 6 to 10, 2025. In the meeting, Independent Commissioner of the Cambodia Competition Commission (CCC), Chair of the ASEAN Expert Group on Competition (AECG) Mrs. Ly Sopoirvichny gave his opening remarks.

          The meeting was held for the purpose of discussing among ASEAN member states regarding the current practices, completion conditions, the plans to be carried out and ways to solve the challenges and the difficulties faced with respect to competition policy and law.

          The 35^th Meeting of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition (AEGC) and related meetings were held as per the following schedule –

• The 6^th meeting of the ASEAN Heads of Comptetition Agencies (AHCA) (6 October 2025)

• The Validation Workshop on the ASEAN Capacity Building Roadmap (ACBR) 2030 (6-7 October 2025)

• The 35^th Meeting of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition (7-9 October 2025)

• The Validation Workshop for the ASEAN Competition Business Perceptions Index (ACBPI) (10 October 2025)

• The 3^rd Meeting of the Project Steering Committee (PSC) (10 October 2025)

          Representatives of ASEAN Experts Group on Competition from Asean Member Countries, the ASEAN Secretariat attended the meetings and the Timor-Leste Participated as an observer country. As representatives from Myanmar, vice-chairman of the Myanmar Competition Commission, U Than Maung and the officials from the  Commission Office attended online. Representatives of Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, US, UK, Canada and GIZ attended the related meetings.
